Our work in India"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During March this year members of the Lab4Living team undertook a mammoth overseas trip taking in Delhi, Mumbai and Surabaya in eastern Java. Designers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shu.ac.uk\/about-us\/our-people\/staff-profiles\/heath-reed\">Heath Reed<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shu.ac.uk\/about-us\/our-people\/staff-profiles\/andy-stanton\">Andy Stanton<\/a> are delivering projects in school and community settings under a new UK Government funding programme.\u00a0The work is funded through the &#8216;Frugal Innovation&#8217; theme in Sheffield Hallam University\u2019s &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/hkcindia\/our-projects\/global-challenges-research-fund\/?doing_wp_cron=1554078247.4926500320434570312500\">Global Challenge Research Fund<\/a>&#8216; concept development<\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;<i>The people we met and the projects we worked on reminded me just how powerful design approaches can be in helping to create positive change<\/i>&#8221; Heath Reed<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The &#8216;<strong>Playponics<\/strong>&#8216; concept has been welcomed by schools in the Delhi region and has in-principle backing from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teriin.org\/\">The Energy and Resources Institute<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We plan to have the first installation up and running in a local school\u00a0by the end of 2019.
