Fighting for Life<\/em><\/a>\u00a0is a play by the renowned and award winning writer, Brian Daniels<\/a>. Inspired by the experiences of the\u00a0Findlay family\u00a0it explores issues relating to\u00a0end of life care. It is a powerful story about navigating systems, coping with the complex challenges that living with life-limiting illnesses bring, about the centrality of communication but\u00a0above all it is a story about love, about family and about relationship. Whilst the story focuses on the experiences of the Findlay family in essence it is about the challenges we could all face in later life whether ourselves or in caring for older relatives.<\/p>\n

Lab4Living’s Claire Craig<\/a> is hosting the play at Sheffield’s Crucible Theatre hoping\u00a0to highlight the role of the arts in raising key issues around end of life and palliative care as part of a broader movement around\u00a0building compassionate community.<\/p>\n

Claire Craig<\/a>\u00a0is Reader in Design and Creative Practice in Health in the\u00a0Art & Design Research Centre<\/a>\u00a0(ADRC) and Co-Director of the interdisciplinary research group\u00a0Lab4Living<\/a>.
