This significant change presents both opportunities and challenges.\u00a0 The aim of this day is to bring together different stakeholders to discuss and debate the issues.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sparc.ac.uk\/workshops_proceedings.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">This event<\/a> has been organised by Professor Gail Mountain\u00a0 in her capacity as Director of KT-Equal.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0day looks at the transformation of community equipment services and\u00a0some of the possible implications of\u00a0the mainstreaming of assistive devices for older and disabled people.<\/p>\n<p>The day aims\u00a0to bring together different stakeholders to discuss and debate the issues and includes presentations by Professors <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sheffield.ac.uk\/scharr\/sections\/hsr\/rrg\/members\/gail_mountain1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gail Mountain<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shu.ac.uk\/about-us\/our-people\/staff-profiles\/paul-chamberlain\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paul Chamberlain<\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/lab4living.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lab4Living<\/a> and Lynne Horn (National Implementation Manager, <a href=\"http:\/\/psnc.org.uk\/services-commissioning\/locally-commissioned-services\/transforming-community-equipment-services\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Transforming Community Equipment Services<\/a>, CSED Programme, Department of Health).<\/p>\n<p>The event is being held at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stmarys-church.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">St. Mary&#8217;s Conference Centre<\/a>, Bramall Lane, Sheffield on 27 October 2009.
