This project is\u00a0led by <a href=\"https:\/\/research.shu.ac.uk\/engineering-for-life\/chris-care.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Professor Chris Care<\/a> of the Material and Engineering Research Institute (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.shu.ac.uk\/research\/meri\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MERI<\/a>) at Sheffield Hallam University.\u00a0The Lab4Living was proud to be chosen as the flagship exemplar of interdisciplinary research. It has huge quantities of testimonial data, views, opinions, stories, ideas from elderly citizens of Sheffield recruited to the project as participants and as researchers. At the start of the project\u00a0\u2019young\u2019 researchers visited elderly people and asked them about problems they experienced in the bathroom. Meanwhile, older Sheffield residents were recruited and trained as researchers and sent out to visit their \u2018peers\u2019 within the city and ask the same questions. We hope, that with further\u00a0funding, we can explore this as a technique for gathering research data; almost as a substitute to the \u00a0survey and\u00a0user group.
