{"id":6168,"date":"2017-04-01T08:30:11","date_gmt":"2017-04-01T07:30:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/c3riimpact\/?p=6168"},"modified":"2019-02-26T13:33:08","modified_gmt":"2019-02-26T13:33:08","slug":"lifestyle-matters-lab4living","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/c3riimpact\/lifestyle-matters-lab4living\/","title":{"rendered":"Lab4Living &#8211; Redesigning mental health services in London"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lab4Living\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shu.ac.uk\/about-us\/our-people\/staff-profiles\/claire-craig\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Claire Craig<\/a> was recently invited to facilitate a series of master classes in London for occupational therapists wanting to deliver and embed the <a href=\"https:\/\/lifestylematters.wordpress.com\/the-programme\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lifestyle Matters<\/a> approach into mental health services.<\/p>\n<p>Lifestyle Matters is an intervention developed through research with older people in Sheffield. The original research was undertaken over ten years ago by Claire Craig and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bradford.ac.uk\/health\/our-staff\/dementia-studies\/gail-mountain.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gail Mountain<\/a> and explored how older people could experience wellbeing through making changes in the way they engaged in day to day activities and in doing so to effectively re-design their lifestyles.<\/p>\n<p>Claire was commissioned by Mental Health Services, Tower Hamlets, who were keen to explore whether the intervention might be effective for people accessing their services across London.
