{"id":6164,"date":"2017-04-01T08:40:59","date_gmt":"2017-04-01T07:40:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/c3riimpact\/?p=6164"},"modified":"2019-02-26T13:32:49","modified_gmt":"2019-02-26T13:32:49","slug":"catalyst-funded-lab4living-project-highlights-value-design-bringing-isolated-older-people-together","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/c3riimpact\/catalyst-funded-lab4living-project-highlights-value-design-bringing-isolated-older-people-together\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;The Power of Sheffield Journeys&#8217;: Catalyst-funded Lab4Living project highlights the value of design in bringing isolated older people together"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Catalyst-funded Lab4Living project, <a href=\"https:\/\/research.shu.ac.uk\/lab4living\/the-power-of-sheffield-journeys\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>The Power of Sheffield Journeys<\/em><\/a>, in collaboration with Kathy Marwick, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.homeinstead.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Home Instead<\/a> and vocalist Susan Housely brought together older people in an event at High Green.<\/p>\n<p>Kathy Marwick has been working on a number of projects across the city in an attempt to reduce the social isolation many individuals experience and when she heard about the project headed by Lab4Living\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shu.ac.uk\/about-us\/our-people\/staff-profiles\/claire-craig\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Claire Craig<\/a> saw this as a possible vehicle to create change. The event held at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pacessheffield.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">High Green\u2019s Paces Centre<\/a> offered older people an opportunity to \u2018connect\u2019 with memories of journeys across the city through film and music.
