Professor Virginia Heath<\/a>\u2019s feature documentary film\u00a0From Scotland With Love<\/em><\/a>\u00a0will be screening in Hanoi, Vietnam, on Wednesday 16 January 2019 as part of the British Council\u2019s Film As Cultural Heritage<\/em><\/a>\u00a0symposium. This is part of the wider British Council\u2019s Heritage of Future Past – A Cultural Heritage for Inclusive Growth Project<\/a><\/em>, a\u00a0two-year pilot initiative exploring the use of cultural heritage for growth that benefits all levels of society.<\/p>\n

\"Composite<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Film As Cultural Heritage Symposium\u00a0<\/em>runs from Tuesday 15 January to Friday 18 January 2019 and seeks to advocate\u00a0for the cultural and social value of film archives and archival materials, facilitate new cross-organisation conversations and share creative and practical ways of working with archives.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Vietnam programme is exciting because it’s acknowledging film (as opposed to bricks and mortar or libraries) as cultural heritage. \u00a0And especially keen to include From Scotland With Love as part of the symposium\u201d.<\/p>\n

Made entirely of Scottish film archive,\u00a0From Scotland With Love<\/em>\u00a0is a 75-minute film by award-winning Director and Sheffield Hallam University Professor of Film\u00a0Virginia Heath<\/a>\u00a0with a transcendent score by Scottish musician and composer\u00a0King Creosote<\/a>. A journey into our collective past, the film explores universal themes of love, loss, resistance, migration, work and play. Ordinary people, some long since dead, their names and identities largely forgotten, appear shimmering from the depth of the vaults to take a starring role.<\/p>\n
