Rose Butler<\/a>, senior lecturer and Fine Art research scholar at Sheffield Hallam University has been invited to screen her dual-screen work\u00a0The Fairs<\/em>:\u00a0Kamikaze<\/em> and Star Flyer<\/em> (2016) as part of Cinema Paradiso<\/a> during the HOME Artist Film Weekender 2018<\/a>, HOME\u2019s fourth annual celebration of the wild, inventive world of artist film. The weekender runs from Friday 30 November 2018 to Sunday 02 December 2018 and Rose’s films screen on Thursday 29 November to launch the weekender.<\/p>\n

Kamikaze<\/em> and Star Flyer<\/em> (2016):\u00a0Two different fairground rides visit the city centre interrupting the horizon appearing and then disappearing behind old industrial buildings and department stores. One ride turns like a clock hand whilst the other spins like a flying saucer, passengers are whooping or screaming. The work evokes questions of escape, control, voyeurism and complicity. Rose Butler<\/a>\u00a0is an artist, researcher and senior lecturer of Fine Art at Sheffield Hallam University, she works with video, photography, sound, animation and installation. She is a Doctoral Researcher registered in C3RI and sponsored by the SHU Vice Chancellor\u2019s Scholarship Scheme.
