Rodgers<\/a> (Senior Lecturer in Media, Sheffield Hallam University) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shu.ac.uk\/about-us\/our-people\/staff-profiles\/andrew-robinson\">Andrew Robinson<\/a> (Senior Lecturer in Photography, Sheffield Hallam University).<\/p>\n<p>An inaugural symposium on folklore studies in the UK is being held at Sheffield Hallam University&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shu.ac.uk\/visit-us\/how-to-find-us\/collegiate-campus-map\">Collegiate Campus<\/a> on Thursday 15th November 2018. This one-day event (9:30am \u2013 5:00pm) will include a welcome talk, three academic panels and a plenary discussion, foregrounding the study of folklore as a subject in its own right. The purpose of the day is to generate discussion and debate about the study of folklore in higher education.<\/p>\n<p>The three core themes for the panels are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Archiving, Documenting and Photographing Folklore<\/li>\n<li>Folklore Studies: Past, Present &amp; Future<\/li>\n<li>Folk Horror: Folklore on Screen<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The venue is the main building at\u00a0the Collegiate Crescent campus in room D.008 \u2013 directions and details of the schedule and abstracts are available on the Centre for Contemporary Legend website <a href=\"https:\/\/centreforcontemporarylegend.wordpress.com\/ccl-inaugural-symposium-nov-2018\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The event is free, but places are limited.
