FABS is a mentoring and residency scheme specifically aimed at supporting recent graduates, allowing them to work closely with local arts organisations to build their experience and confidence within Sheffield&#8217;s visual arts community.<\/p>\n<p>This exhibition showcases the work of the 2017-18 FABS artists:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/alexmooneyart.wordpress.com\/\">Alex Mooney<\/a>\u00a0and Hannah Lamb are working with\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.blocprojects.co.uk\/\">Bloc Projects<\/a>\u00a0and have been exploring a range of arts activities including gallery education programmes, curation, project management, setting up arts organisations and working within the voluntary sector.<\/p>\n<p>Alex Phillips and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mapapart.tumblr.com\/\">Mattie Pugh<\/a>\u00a0are hosted by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sitegallery.org\/\">Site Gallery<\/a>\u00a0who are supporting the artists to explore how they can work in different communities, in diverse sites, and in unusual spaces through their public outreach activities such as\u00a0\u2018The Society of Explorers\u2019 and \u2018On the Road\u2019 programmes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cargocollective.com\/leatorpnielsen\">Lea Torp Nielsen<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/cargocollective.com\/anderwhite\">Alex White<\/a>\u00a0are in residences at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.museums-sheffield.org.uk\/\">Museums Sheffield<\/a>, working with the collections at Weston Park Museum and The Ruskin Collection to develop individual responses.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/venspace.tumblr.com\/\">Ashley Wallis<\/a>, Bron Wilkinson, Norman Anderson and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ashleypearce.weebly.com\/\">Ashley Pearce<\/a>\u00a0are hosted by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.s1artspace.org\/\">S1 Artspace<\/a>, where they have studio spaces to develop their art practice during FABS.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www4.shu.ac.uk\/sia\/events\/event-listing.html?event=276&amp;mc_cid=5bdb38e433&amp;mc_eid=%5bUNIQID%5d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>BRINK<\/strong><\/a><\/em><br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www4.shu.ac.uk\/sia\/visit\/\">Sheffield Institute of Arts<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/artspace.org.uk\/\">Yorkshire Artspace Persistence Works Gallery<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Saturday 28 July 2018 \u2013 Saturday 25 August 2018<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Exhibition Launch Event on\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Thursday 02 August 6PM &#8211; 8PM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>FABS forms part of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/sheffieldcityofmakers.co.uk\/category\/making-ways\">Making Ways<\/a>, a new programme supported by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sheffieldculture.co.uk\/\">Sheffield Culture Consortium<\/a>\u00a0through\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.artscouncil.org.uk\/\">Arts Council England<\/a>\u00a0to showcase, celebrate and develop the exceptional contemporary visual art produced in the city.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Fine Art Bridge Scheme (FABS) supports early career artists to nurture new talent in Sheffield.
