\nTitle: Meat the maker – exploring food through jewellery and objects <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Rachael is an interdisciplinary artist and lecturer in Jewellery and Metalwork at Sheffield Institute of Arts<\/a>, Sheffield Hallam University. Her M(eat) et al<\/em> art jewellery collection is designed to sit alongside a complimentary set of Ambiguous Implements<\/em> for eating, grooming and cleaning, that jointly serve to highlight aspects of contemporary consumer culture.<\/p>\n

Her practice-led research explores degradable organic material\u2019s decorative features and limited lifespans, highlighting the fleeting and complex nature of human existence and the passing of time, suggesting the ultimate end that conventional jewellery circumvents through its endurance. She is currently investigating whether jewellery with a food-based element of content, when presented alongside food and tools for eating, has the potential to create a new bodily experience.<\/p>\n
