Visual programming allows programs to be treated as visual objects. Compared with traditional text based code, visualisations allow the relationships and dependencies in the code, and between the code and its output. Our visual capabilities help reduce the complexity of coding and testing and result in greater willingness to code and better quality code.<\/p>\n

There have been many attempts at visual programming in different contexts. In this workshop, experts from the Communication and Computing Research Centre<\/a> at Sheffield Hallam University<\/a> and the University of Sheffield<\/a>, will review existing approaches and research methods developed to assess how good (or otherwise) approaches are. The workshop will provide hands-on experience with three different visual programming models in various domains.<\/p>\n

This two day workshop (12th & 19th April<\/strong>) is relevant to:
\n\u2022 Anyone familiar with the complexity of coding
\n\u2022 Professional developers wishing to ensure that the users’ of their products can manage configuration
\n\u2022 Professional developers looking for new ways of coding
\n\u2022 Teachers\/Trainers wishing to make the hurdle of coding easier
\n\u2022 Professionals who know they’ll be asked to code sooner or later<\/p>\n
