In this standard work, Kant raises questions about morality: is it possible to determine when an action is morally justified? And is morality not just a human invention? In his lecture series, John Callanan analyses Kant\u2019s theories on the nature of moral value, a theme that corresponds with Hester&#8217;s\u00a0own practice. Hester&#8217;s research has been exploring\u00a0how\u00a0thinking conceptually about art\u2019s possibilities can facilitate new agendas for making, composition and materials.<\/p>\n<p>Hester now departs for the Frisian village of Beetsterzwaag for the final part of her residency\u00a0at CPVA&#8217;s partner institute,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/kunsthuissyb.nl\/?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\">Kunsthuis SYB<\/a>. \u00a0Following on from the period of research and reflection at CVPA, the\u00a0six-week residency at Kunsthuis SYB is a time to create new work for exhibition. \u00a0Hester will be paired with both a curator from the programming committee and a writer to create space for developing theoretical research, as well as a second layer of dialogue and interaction.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the stay at Kunsthuis SYB there will be an exhibition of work in progress, scheduled for the\u00a0weekend of 21-22 of October.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Further information about the residency programme is available <a href=\"http:\/\/kunsthuissyb.nl\/?p=2929&amp;lang=en\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> and you can learn more about Hester\u2019s work\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/hester-reeve.squarespace.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hester Reeve, artist and Reader in Fine Art in the Art &amp; Design Research Centre (ADRC), has just completed the first part of her joint residency at Kings College London (KCL) and at\u00a0Kunsthuis SYB\u00a0in The Netherlands.
