{"id":3016,"date":"2016-01-04T12:00:05","date_gmt":"2016-01-04T12:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/c3riimpact\/?p=3016"},"modified":"2018-07-26T12:26:53","modified_gmt":"2018-07-26T11:26:53","slug":"becky-shaw-watershed-plus-calgary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/c3riimpact\/becky-shaw-watershed-plus-calgary\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr Becky Shaw selected for &#8216;WATERSHED+: Dynamic Environment Lab&#8217; in Calgary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shu.ac.uk\/about-us\/our-people\/staff-profiles\/rebecca-shaw\" target=\"_blank\">Dr Becky Shaw<\/a>, Reader in Fine Art and Postgraduate Tutor, has been selected as one of five international artists to participate in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.watershedplus.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>WATERSHED+: Dynamic Environment Lab<\/em><\/a> which will take place in Calgary between 10 January and 15 January.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>WATERSHED+ Lab<\/em> is a concept that immerses artists with the intent to support critical thinking, shared knowledge and to bring contemporary artists\u2019 practices into the work of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.calgary.ca\/UEP\/Pages\/home.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Utilities and Environment Protection Department<\/a>. This issues-based Lab encourages artists to explore and experiment in response to the context of Calgary\u2019s water management system and the city. Following the Lab, artists will submit a proposal for a public work.<\/p>\n<p>This Lab has grown from previous <em>WATERSHED+<\/em> initiatives \u2013 UEP staff laboratories, artist residencies, permanent and temporary projects \u2013 aiming to renew and strengthen emotional connections between Calgarians and their watershed.
