Dr Becky Shaw<\/a>, Reader in Fine Art and Postgraduate Tutor, has been selected as one of five international artists to participate in WATERSHED+: Dynamic Environment Lab<\/em><\/a> which will take place in Calgary between 10 January and 15 January.<\/p>\n

The WATERSHED+ Lab<\/em> is a concept that immerses artists with the intent to support critical thinking, shared knowledge and to bring contemporary artists\u2019 practices into the work of the Utilities and Environment Protection Department<\/a>. This issues-based Lab encourages artists to explore and experiment in response to the context of Calgary\u2019s water management system and the city. Following the Lab, artists will submit a proposal for a public work.<\/p>\n

This Lab has grown from previous WATERSHED+<\/em> initiatives \u2013 UEP staff laboratories, artist residencies, permanent and temporary projects \u2013 aiming to renew and strengthen emotional connections between Calgarians and their watershed.
