The North East was in the front line, thanks to its shipyards and munitions factories. In an interview for <a href=\"https:\/\/theculturevulture.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Culture Vulture<\/a>, Esther discusses her inspirations, future screenings of the film and finding time to direct, produce and edit a music video for Saint Etienne&#8217;s new single <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/c3riimpact\/esther-johnson-saint-etienne-dive\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Dive<\/em><\/a>. Her poetic portraits focus on marginal worlds, revealing resonant stories that may otherwise remain hidden or ignored. Work has been exhibited internationally in 40 countries, and has also featured on television and radio. In 2012 Johnson won the Philip Leverhulme Prize in Performing and Visual Arts for young scholars. She is a Professor of Film &amp; Media Art at Sheffield Hallam University.
