If you would like your research activity to feature on the C3RI Impact Blog do please get in touch.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/ecscw2017.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>ECSCW 2017: The 15th European Conference on Computer Supported Cooperative Work<\/strong><\/a><\/h5>\n<p>At the end of August, C3RI hosted the 15<sup>th<\/sup> European Conference on Computer Supported Cooperative Work chaired by Professor Luigina Ciolfi. The <a href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/journal\/10606\/26\/4?wt_mc=Other.Other.8.CON631.CSCW_26-4_ESCW&amp;utm_medium=other&amp;utm_source=other&amp;utm_content=cscw_26-4_escw&amp;utm_campaign=8_anlauf_cscw_26-4_escw\" target=\"_blank\"><em>ECSCW 2017 Proceedings<\/em><\/a> are now available entirely in digital format.<\/p>\n<h6><strong>* Free Open Access to ECSCW 2017 Full Papers until 30 September 2017 *<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>A\u00a0triple Special Issue of the CSCW Journal features full papers from the conference. Ghayda and Caroline will be writing about their experiences as Student Volunteer Chairs at ECSCW2017.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blanchepictures.com\/asunder\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Asunder<\/em><\/a> \u2013 summer screenings and more screenings <\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Throughout the summer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shu.ac.uk\/about-us\/our-people\/staff-profiles\/esther-johnson\" target=\"_blank\">Professor Esther Johnson<\/a>\u2019s film<a href=\"http:\/\/blanchepictures.com\/asunder\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em> Asunder<\/em>\u00a0<\/a>has continued its tour of cinemas and community venues across England and Scotland. <em>Asunder<\/em> uses archive and contemporary film and music to tell the story of a town in the north east of England during WWI. Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/1916asunder\" target=\"_blank\">@1916Asunder<\/a> on Twitter to hear about forthcoming screenings.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Impact from Dr David Clarke\u2019s research into UFOs continues<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Earlier in the summer Reader and Principal Lecturer in Journalism, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shu.ac.uk\/about-us\/our-people\/staff-profiles\/david-clarke\" target=\"_blank\">Dr David Clarke<\/a> completed the very last release of British Government documents on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalarchives.gov.uk\/ufos\/\" target=\"_blank\">UFOs to The National Archives<\/a>. David has worked as curator for the files created by the MoD and Royal Air Force since they were released to The National Archives under the Freedom of Information Act in 2008. With this final tranche of files, David has produced a Research Guide for users of The National Archives to aid access to the files whether online or at the TNA reading rooms in Kew.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of his research in the area of UFO History, art book publishers Four Corners Books commissioned David to produce a book on\u00a0the visual history of UFO sightings. The resulting publication <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fourcornersbooks.co.uk\/books\/ufo-drawings\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><em>UFO Drawings From The National Archives<\/em> <\/strong><\/a>is published later this month.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/c3riimpact\/shared-solidarities-iii-framing-catastrophe\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Shared Solidarities III<\/strong><\/a><\/h5>\n<p>Last week saw the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> Shared Solidarities workshop co-chaired by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shu.ac.uk\/about-us\/our-people\/staff-profiles\/rinella-cere\" target=\"_blank\">Dr Rinella Cere<\/a>, CCRC\u2019s Reader in Media and Cultural Studies. This one-day event was organised by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.meccsa.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Media, Communication and Cultural Studies Association<\/a> (MeCCSA) and saw discussions and workshops by both academics and activists on nuclear threat and climate change. You will be able to find out more about the Shared Solidarities workshop in a forthcoming blog post from Rinella.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><a href=\"http:\/\/gtr.rcuk.ac.uk\/projects?ref=AH\/N004094\/1\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Creative Interruptions<\/strong><\/a><\/h5>\n<p>Throughout the summer, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shu.ac.uk\/about-us\/our-people\/staff-profiles\/anandi-ramamurthy\" target=\"_blank\">Dr Anandi Ramamurthy<\/a>, Reader in Post-colonial Cultures, has been working with partners on the\u00a0Research Councils UK (RCUK) funded <a href=\"http:\/\/gtr.rcuk.ac.uk\/projects?ref=AH\/N004094\/1\" target=\"_blank\">Creative Interruptions<\/a> project. Anandi leads research around Palestinian Cinema has formed partnerships with Sheffield Palestine Cultural Exchange and Cinema Palestino Manchester. The project will deliver a number of events and film screenings in the next few months. More will be revealed in a forthcoming post on the Researcher Blog from Anandi.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><strong>And finally, <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/c3riimpact\/c3ri-seminar-series-2017-18\/\" target=\"_blank\">2017-18 C3RI Research Seminar Series<\/a> \u2013 coming soon \u2026<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>In the coming weeks C3RI researchers will be working with the admin team to put together another vibrant programme of research seminars for the new academic year. It will be a few weeks before the programme is finalised, but expect announcements of talks by a range of visiting speakers and seminars lead by researchers from across the Institute.
