How, then, might activists address the problem in ways that encourage effective movement-building and mainstream public discussion?<\/p>\n<p>Speakers include Nigel Young, founder member of Bradford University&#8217;s pioneering Peace Studies Department, Natalie Bennett, former leader of the Green Party, and Steve McGiffen campaigning writer on the &#8216;anthropocene&#8217;.<\/p>\n<div class=\"js-hidden-when-expired event-listing event-listing--has-image \">\n<div class=\"g-grid g-grid--page-margin-manual\">\n<div class=\"event-listing__body l-sm-pad-top-0\">\n<section class=\"listing-info clrfix\">\n<div class=\"listing-info__body l-sm-pad-vert-0 l-sm-pad-vert-6 clrfix g-group g-group--page-margin-reset\">\n<div class=\"g-cell g-cell-1-1 g-cell-lg-10-12 g-offset-lg-1-12 l-mar-stack l-section-stack\">\n<div class=\"g-group\">\n<div class=\"g-cell g-cell-1-1 g-cell-md-7-12 g-cell--no-gutters l-lg-pad-right-6\">\n<div class=\"g-group l-lg-mar-bot-6 l-md-mar-bot-4 l-pad-bot-6 \">\n<div class=\"g-cell g-cell-10-12 g-cell-md-1-1\">\n<div class=\"has-user-generated-content js-d-read-more read-more js-read-more read-more--medium-down read-more--expanded\">\n<div class=\"js-xd-read-more-toggle-view read-more__toggle-view\">\n<div class=\"js-xd-read-more-contents l-mar-top-3\">\n<p>This is a joint event between the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.meccsa.org.uk\/networks\/social-movements-network\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Social Movements<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.meccsa.org.uk\/climate-change-network\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Climate Change<\/a> Networks of Meccsa and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shu.ac.uk\/research\/specialisms\/cultural-communication-and-computing-research-institute\/what-we-do#this-section\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">The Cultural Communication and Computing Research Institute<\/a> at Sheffield Hallam University, hosted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shu.ac.uk\/about-us\/our-people\/staff-profiles\/rinella-cere\" target=\"_blank\">Rinella Cere<\/a> and Ros Brunt.<\/p>\n<p>It is free and all are welcome. We are providing lunch and refreshments, so everyone who wishes to attend is asked to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.co.uk\/e\/shared-solidarities-iii-framing-catastrophe-tickets-35933621429?utm_source=eb_email&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=order_confirmation_email&amp;utm_term=eventname&amp;ref=eemailordconf\" target=\"_blank\">register<\/a> beforehand.
