{"id":2305,"date":"2017-07-07T11:19:15","date_gmt":"2017-07-07T10:19:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/c3riimpact\/?p=2305"},"modified":"2017-07-24T15:40:27","modified_gmt":"2017-07-24T14:40:27","slug":"off-frame-aka-revolution-until-victory","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/c3riimpact\/off-frame-aka-revolution-until-victory\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr Anandi Ramamurthy hosts screening and director Q&amp;A of &#8216;Off Frame Aka Revolution Until Victory&#8217; with director Mohanad Yaqubi 11\/12 July 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of her research for the AHRC funded <a href=\"http:\/\/gtr.rcuk.ac.uk\/person\/497AB82D-B5BB-45D1-A01B-3DAA3ACDF1C8\" target=\"_blank\">Creative Interruptions project<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shu.ac.uk\/about-us\/our-people\/staff-profiles\/anandi-ramamurthy\">Dr Anandi Ramamurthy<\/a>\u00a0(Reader in Post-Colonial Cultures) will conduct Q&amp;As with director Mohanand Yaqubi following the screenings of &#8216;<em>Off<\/em><em>\u00a0Frame\u00a0Aka Revolution Until Victory&#8217;.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Off<\/em><em>\u00a0Frame\u00a0Aka Revolution Until Victory<\/em>\u00a0explores the Palestinian people\u2019s struggle to represent themselves. \u00a0By using archival material from the Palestine Film Unit, founded in the 1960s to document the Palestinian revolution, the film explores popular representations of Palestine and the work of revolutionary film makers who transformed the image of the Palestinian from refugee to freedom fighter. The film borrows shots and sequences from the few PLO films that remain extant, intersecting with footage produced by international filmmakers who collaborated with the Palestinian revolution from Syria, Italy, UK, Lebanon, France, Germany and Argentina.
