Lise Autogena<\/a> will be speaking with collaborator Joshua Portway about their film Kuannersuit; Kvanefjeld<\/em> which explores the global politics of uranium mining and landrights in Greenland, at this evening of talks entitled Mining to waste: micro-global traces of uranium<\/a><\/em> at Atelier Bouwmeester in Brussels on 21 April, part of Art Brussels 2017<\/a>.<\/p>\n

During this evening event three artists will present their recent work and engage in an open discussion. Each of the artists focuses in a different way on the global traffic of materials and the cycles they move through in time and space from mining, to manufacturing, consumption and waste. This session will focus on the material traces of uranium. Maarten Vanden Eynde will talk about his Triangular Trade project for which he visited different uranium mines in Congo, Lise Autogena and Joshua Portway will discuss the film they recently made on the current debate on uranium mining in Greenland and Alexis Destoop will focus on the contested area around Murmansk in Siberia.<\/p>\n

The talks will be held in English.<\/p>\n
