{"id":13563,"date":"2025-08-27T15:02:51","date_gmt":"2025-08-27T14:02:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/c3riimpact\/?p=13563"},"modified":"2025-10-06T13:59:04","modified_gmt":"2025-10-06T12:59:04","slug":"no-bounds-festival-10-12-october-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/c3riimpact\/no-bounds-festival-10-12-october-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"No Bounds Festival: 10-12 October 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><strong>Sheffield Hallam partners with Treatment Studio for this year\u2019s No Bounds Festival.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><a href=\"https:\/\/noboundsfestival.co.uk\/\">No Bounds festival<\/a> returns to venues across Sheffield and Rotherham from the <strong>10-12 October 2025,<\/strong> featuring new installations from artist-researchers at Sheffield Hallam University and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.treatmentstudio.com\/\">Treatment Studio, London<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>This programme of commissions is entitled\u00a0<em>switch room.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">switch room <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">explores dimensional timelines spanning locality and communities, environmental activism, topographical layering, hypogeal growth, destruction and renewal.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As seeds pushing through the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">grit <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">of substrate, the debris of continuous urban regeneration reveals itself through the beauty of light and optics, mechanised through sculpture, movement and projection. These ventures in visuality expand our perceptions of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">graft <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0&#8211; physical and emotional labour, industrial endeavour, botanical ingenuity and the heft of whole systems-change-glimpses into sustainable futures. An interactive installation that plays with Sheffield\u2019s topography and architectural heritage, reflecting the city\u2019s ongoing transformation and greening. It invites participants to navigate physical pathways through the basement of Castle House, referencing geological underpinnings and the remains of cultural landmarks. Both meditation on regeneration and reflection on Sheffield\u2019s capacity to reimagine itself.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Damian Hale (Treatment Studio), in collaboration with artist-researchers from Sheffield Creative Industries Institute (Sheffield Hallam University) presents a joint venture in debut and reworked archival pieces, especially for No Bounds, inspired by the themes of GRIT and GRAFT.
