Abstractions of Holderness<\/a><\/em> is an audio-visual work by Esther Johnson and Saint Etienne<\/a>\u2019s Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs inspired by Basil Kirchin\u2019s 1970s residency in East Yorkshire. Kirchin, an English drummer and composer, is known as a pioneer of musique concr\u00e8te<\/em> and has been described by Brian Eno as, \u201ca founding father of ambient\u201d.<\/p>\n

Hull: City of Cinema<\/a><\/em> is a three day event celebrating Hull\u2019s filmmakers, television makers and cinemas, past, present and future.<\/p>\n

Abstractions of Holderness<\/em> will be introduced by Esther and presented at 1.10PM preceding The Problem of Perspective<\/em>, a series of screenings illuminating a distinctly northern perspective on the history of artists\u2019 moving image in England. Esther will also be on a panel with current practitioners in the screen industry (from production to exhibition) in Yorkshire sharing their insights about career paths in the industry and the future of screen in Hull\/East Yorkshire\/Yorkshire. <\/p>\n
