This exhibition of international artists\u2019 work with the moving image takes a closer look at the ever-changing boundaries between land and sea, exploring Hull\u2019s long-standing prominence as a gateway to the North Sea and beyond. <\/p>\n<p>At a time when climate change threatens to blur boundaries further and bring far-reaching economic impact, the exhibition captures the sea\u2019s elemental power and asks: is everywhere now Somewhere Becoming Sea? <\/p>\n<p>Curated by Steven Bode.<\/p>\n<p>There will also be a symposium <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.co.uk\/e\/sounding-the-sea-symposium-tickets-31878780290?\" target=\"_blank\">Sounding The Sea<\/a><\/em> held at Ferens Art Gallery and Hull University, that reflects on the Somewhere Becoming Sea exhibition themes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>15 June 2017<\/strong> \u2013 Ferens Art Gallery, Hull HU1 3RA<br \/>\n<strong>16 June 2017<\/strong> \u2013 Middleton Hall, Hull University HU6 7RX<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shu.ac.uk\/about-us\/our-people\/staff-profiles\/esther-johnson\" target=\"_blank\">Esther Johnson<\/a> (MA Royal College of Art) is an artist and filmmaker working at the intersection of artist moving image and documentary portraiture.
