This is the first time in IWM\u2019s history that a permanent gallery space has been created to display the three collections together &#8211; visual art, film and photography. Stepping into the Galleries, visitors will learn how the museum has been collecting and interpreting artistic responses to conflict since its inception during the First World War.<\/p>\n<p>Objects on display will include\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Peter_Jackson\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Peter Jackson<\/a>\u2019s award-winning 2018 film\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/They_Shall_Not_Grow_Old\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>They Shall Not Grow Old<\/em>,<\/a>\u00a0which transformed original archive footage into colour for a reimagining of the First World War. Artworks from renowned artists from the First and Second World Wars will include works by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Paul_Nash_(artist)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paul Nash<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/John_Lavery\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">John Lavery<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Laura_Knight\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Laura Knight\u2019<\/a>s\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ruby_Loftus_Screwing_a_Breech-ring\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ruby Loftus Screwing a Breech-ring<\/a><\/em>, one of the most inspiring artworks to come from the period. More contemporary works include\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.paulseawright.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paul Seawright<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iwm.org.uk\/collections\/item\/object\/24531\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mounds<\/a><\/em>, commissioned by IWM in 2002 to respond to the war in Afghanistan and photographs from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.johnkeaneart.com\/index.php\/welcome\/cat\/2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">John Keane<\/a>\u00a0who recorded the war in Iraq in 1991.
