\u2018Giant Hand Eats Building from the Inside’ and \u2018Loop Until Escape’ launched at Sarah Wigglesworth Architecture (SWA) September 19th<\/sup>\u00a02022<\/strong><\/p>\n

Becky Shaw’s work developed from a recent artist residency at a firm of architects is now on show.<\/p>\n

Following a residency at Sarah Wigglesworth Architecture in 2019-20<\/a>, Becky was invited to show the body of work in the context of Stock Orchard House (SWA\u2019s live work base) as part of their contribution to London Architecture week. This context meant that the artists publication \u2018Giant Hand Eats Building from the Inside\u2019 could finally be printed and distributed.<\/p>\n

To make the work, Becky worked with artist-writer Emma Bolland, who developed newspaper headlines in response to Becky\u2019s visceral, funny, messy images.<\/p>\n

In addition, the video \u2018Loop until Escape\u2019 was shown. This video examines the pressure and space of the SWA working environment (and its aggregate of objects, screens and people) so it was brilliant to present it back in this space.<\/p>\n
