We are delighted to share results from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shu.ac.uk\/art-design-media-research-centre\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Art, Design &amp; Media Research Centre<\/a> (ADRMC) and <a href=\"https:\/\/lab4living.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lab4Living <\/a>confirming world leading and internationally excellent research. Key findings highlight the strong research environment and the impact that our research is having on society, culture and the economy.<\/p>\n<div id=\"block-1b224f30-8999-42ac-9c5f-deb46f3258e0\" class=\"block-editor-block-list__block wp-block\" role=\"group\" aria-label=\"Block: Offset column block\" data-block=\"1b224f30-8999-42ac-9c5f-deb46f3258e0\" data-type=\"cgb\/block-if-collective-offset-block\" data-title=\"Offset column block\">\n<div class=\"grid-x\">\n<div class=\"{thisClassName}\">\n<div class=\"block-editor-inner-blocks\">\n<div class=\"block-editor-block-list__layout\">\n<p id=\"block-ad067de3-9714-4017-b9c5-2edba94b5fb7\" class=\"block-editor-rich-text__editable block-editor-block-list__block wp-block rich-text\" role=\"group\" aria-label=\"Paragraph block\" data-block=\"ad067de3-9714-4017-b9c5-2edba94b5fb7\" data-type=\"core\/paragraph\" data-title=\"Paragraph\">Key findings from REF2021:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b class=\"\">90%<\/b> of our research is World-leading or internationally excellent (4* and 3*), ranking us 3rd of all modern UK universities<\/li>\n<li><strong>100%<\/strong> of our research impact was judged to be World-leading or internationally excellent (4* and 3*), ranking us 5th of all UK Universities (86) on research impact<\/li>\n<li><strong>83.3%<\/strong> of our impact was judged to be World leading (4*) demonstrating the impact that our research is having on society, culture and the economy.<\/li>\n<li><b class=\"\">100%\u00a0<\/b>of our research environment was once again judged to be World-leading or internationally excellent (4* and 3*)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"block-3305098b-8674-4d2d-b932-b64ccfabbe10\" class=\"block-editor-rich-text__editable block-editor-block-list__block wp-block rich-text\" role=\"group\" aria-label=\"Paragraph block\" data-block=\"3305098b-8674-4d2d-b932-b64ccfabbe10\" data-type=\"core\/paragraph\" data-title=\"Paragraph\">The Research Excellence Framework (REF) is the UK\u2019s system for assessing the excellence of research in UK higher education. The last REF was in 2014. ADMRC and Lab4Living submitted its research jointly to Unit of Assessment 32, Art and Design: History, Practice and Theory.<\/p>\n<p role=\"group\" aria-label=\"Paragraph block\" data-block=\"3305098b-8674-4d2d-b932-b64ccfabbe10\" data-type=\"core\/paragraph\" data-title=\"Paragraph\">For REF 2021 we submitted a range of competitive research funding awards to the value of \u00a37.9 million, up from \u00a32.7 million in 2014.\u00a0We submitted 31.25 FTE staff, up from 24.46 FTE in 2014.<\/p>\n<p class=\"block-editor-rich-text__editable block-editor-block-list__block wp-block rich-text\" role=\"group\" aria-label=\"Paragraph block\" data-block=\"3305098b-8674-4d2d-b932-b64ccfabbe10\" data-type=\"core\/paragraph\" data-title=\"Paragraph\">The results confirm the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shu.ac.uk\/art-design-media-research-centre\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Art, Design &amp; Media Research Centre<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/lab4living.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lab4Living<\/a> as two of the strongest performing research centres in Sheffield Hallam University.
