L\u2019exposition s\u2019empare des questions soulev\u00e9es par les relations qu\u2019entretiennent espaces naturels et activit\u00e9s humaines. Les artistes pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s envisagent le paysage comme sujet de r\u00e9flexion po\u00e9tique, esth\u00e9tique et politique : en posant un regard \u00e0 la fois fascin\u00e9, r\u00e9flexif, attentif et critique, ils explorent les nouveaux enjeux de la repr\u00e9sentation du paysage et notamment celui de la montagne. Ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes physiques, \u00e9nergies m\u00e9caniques, les oeuvres exp\u00e9rimentent la mise en relation d\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9ments, de champs de connaissance, de situations, de trajectoires. Des forces dynamiques sont \u00e0 l\u2019oeuvre, elles inqui\u00e8tent, pr\u00e9occupent, r\u00e9sistent.

The new group exhibition\u00a0Paysages sous tensions<\/em>, at Espace d’art La Brava brings together new commissions and existing works by a group of international artists, to address our complex, mediated and often contested relationship with the natural world.<\/p>\n

The show is curated by Pauline Boucharlat, at Espace d\u2019art La Brava, Th\u00f4nes, France.<\/p>\n

\"Still<\/a><\/p>\n

La Plupart des Objets Restent Invisibles <\/em>(2020, 22 minutes) exists somewhere between an ontographic study and an immersive travelogue. Featuring a mobilised species of objects – in order of appearance: Boundary object<\/em>, Privileged object<\/em>, Discrete object<\/em>, Quasi-object<\/em>, Unknowable object<\/em>, Exhausted object<\/em> and Proto object<\/em>. The film follows their non-linear migratory patterns and atomised relationships, on a journey through diverse terrains and climates.<\/p>\n

\"Still<\/a><\/p>\n

This network of relations displays an illusion of proximity, while each of the subjects exhibits distinctive interpretations of a shared ritual. The film denies direct access to the objects, the viewer is left to speculate if they are human or non-human\u2026 a species of bird, a group of economic migrants or an affiliation of abstract intentions.<\/p>\n

At the centre of this film is a voice that narrates and reflects on the objects progress, speaking to the traces amidst their interweaving trails. The film features animated scenes, alongside sequences of still imagery, satellite photography, urban and rural film footage, and diagrams.<\/p>\n
