{"id":32,"date":"2016-07-04T16:36:35","date_gmt":"2016-07-04T16:36:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/c3riimpact\/?page_id=32"},"modified":"2023-08-24T12:14:02","modified_gmt":"2023-08-24T11:14:02","slug":"ref2014","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/c3riimpact\/ref2014\/","title":{"rendered":"REF2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Research Excellence Framework (REF) is the mechanism by which the quality of research in UK Higher Educations is assessed.<\/p>\n<p>The Research Institute submitted to two Units of Assessment (UoAs) in REF2014:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/results.ref.ac.uk\/Results\/BySubmission\/475\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UoA34: Art &amp; Design (History, Practice &amp; Theory)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/results.ref.ac.uk\/Results\/BySubmission\/476\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UoA36: Communication, Cultural and Media Studies, Library and Information Management<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Both research centres performed extremely well in REF2014.<\/p>\n<p>An impressive 81% of all research in Art, Design and Media Arts was\u00a0recognised as &#8216;world leading&#8217; or &#8216;internationally excellent&#8217; in terms of quality, environment and impact, with 100% of the research impact achieving the highest 3* and 4* ratings.<\/p>\n<p>65% of all research submitted by the Communication &amp; Computing Research Centre was ranked as &#8216;world leading&#8217; or &#8216;internationally excellent&#8217; in terms of quality, environment and impact, with 90% of the research impact scoring 3* or 4*.<\/p>\n<p>Our full results are available on the <a href=\"http:\/\/results.ref.ac.uk\/Results\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">REF2014 website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Research Excellence Framework (REF) is the mechanism by which the quality of research in UK Higher Educations is assessed.
