Reader in Fine Art Dr Sharon Kivland will feature her work The Terror is nothing other than prompt, severe, inflexible justice in an international project showcasing clothes in art outside of the context of the fashion industry next month at the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow. The exhibition, entitled The Fabric of Felicity spans five continents and features over forty artists, including representatives of historical avant-gardes, members of the Soviet and Brazilian underground art scenes, and new generation artists from Russia, Japan, USA, Zimbabwe, and other countries. Sharon Kivland’s installation investigates and allegorises the dress codes of the French Revolution.

The Fabric of Felicity is the result of a thought experiment. What happens when we erase fashion from the conversation between garments and art? What kind of questions arise when there is no common ground where art and clothes habitually meet?
