A-Z Building Facilities Guide

Access

The main entrance is via Charles Street. An accessible entrance is situated on Brown Lane.

A link bridge, designed by Corin Mellor and linking Arundel directly to Charles Street, is situated on level 3 of the building. Please note this access will not be made available until 23 March 2016.


Bookable meeting rooms

Please see Bookable Rooms page for information on which spaces are bookable and how to book them.


Building opening hours

Currently, opening times are 07.30-21.00 with opening at weekends by arrangement.

Security will lock the building at around 9pm each night and anyone wishing to work later in the building will need to inform security.


Catering

The refurbished catering outlet, Il Barista, is situated in 10001, level 0, alongside the Open Access IT area. The catering outlet will be fully operational from Monday 4 April. From 22 February – 18 March opening hours will be:

Changing facilities

There are no specific changing facilities in Arundel but a shower is available on level 0.


Deliveries/post

Pigeon holes and post bags are situated in the following locations:

  • Level 1 staff: room 10105
  • Level 2 staff: Charles Street 12.1.12
  • Level 3 staff: Charles Street 12.1.12

Printing and copying

Multi-function devices (MFDs) are located throughout the building for printing / copying / scanning / faxing. User instructions will be located with each device and can also be found online here.

User in Arundel can also access Select and Release printing and the Email to Print options. Click here for further guidance.


Reception

There is no main reception desk at Arundel.


Recycling

There are recycling bins available on all levels of Arundel, including information about what can and cannot be recycled.

Resource Centres

Multi-function devices (MFDs) are located throughout the building for printing / copying / scanning / faxing. User instructions will be located with each device and can also be found online here.

Recycling facilities are located on each floor. Refer to the University sustainability policies for more details.


Staff Resource area 

Staff resource areas, including fridges,microwaves, and hot and chilled water, are located at:

  • Level 1: 10104
  • Level 2: 10206
  • Level 3: 10304
  • Level 4: 10403

Stationery

Stationery should be ordered via the faculty, and is available from Charles Street 12.1.12.


Storage

Cycling

A bike rack is located at Charles Street with 16 spaces. If using this please ensure you lock and secure your bike safely.


Student Helpdesk

The student helpdesk is located on level 1.


Teething Issues

If you have any issues with the building services, please report these to Customer Services at Main Reception on Level 0 of Charles Street. Alternatively, you can ring ext.4444 to report an issue.

  • If you have any issues or faults with any IT equipment, please report to IT Helpdesk at ithelp@shu.ac.uk or ext.3333.

Toilets

Male and female toilet facilities and accessible toilets are located on every floor.

As part of the University’s equality and diversity culture, Sheffield Hallam supports the Changing Places scheme, providing toilets for people with profound and multiple learning disabilities, as well as other serious impairments such as spinal injuries, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis or an acquired brain injury, who often need extra facilities to allow them to use the toilets comfortably.

You can find a Changing Places toilet on level 0 of Arundel.
