Overview
The University is committed to the principle of fostering a culture and environment where individual difference is appreciated and respected, ensuring equitable and fair treatment for all. Our aim is to bring equality and diversity to the heart of the University ensuring all potential and current staff, students and other stakeholders are treated fairly, and are not discriminated against on grounds of sex, marital status, gender reassignment, racial group, disability, sexual orientation, religion or belief, age, socio-economic background, family circumstances, or any other irrelevant distinction.
More information on the University’s equality and diversity policies can be found here:

Changing Places Toilet
As part of the University’s equality and diversity culture, Sheffield Hallam supports the Changing Places scheme, providing toilets for people with profound and multiple learning disabilities, as well as other serious impairments such as spinal injuries, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis or an acquired brain injury, who often need extra facilities to allow them to use the toilets comfortably.
You can find a Changing Places toilet on level 0 of Arundel.

Breastfeeding Friendly Organisation
The University is committed to developing an inclusive culture for all and aims to provide students, staff and visitors with a supportive and inclusive environment, so that everyone can achieve their full potential.
Becoming a Breastfeeding Friendly institution is just one step that has been taken to achieve this aim. The Breastfeeding Friendly award means we are happy for you to breastfeed in any public area of Arundel. We want mums to feel comfortable breastfeeding and the numerous benefits that breastfeeding has for mothers and babies are in line with the University’s Wellness policies.
Please visit our webpage https://staff.shu.ac.uk/fdr/estates/breastfeeding.asp for our policy, further information and how you can actively support this.
