I’d like to update you on progress so far and next steps regarding refurbishment in Adsetts.
Following the workshops held with staff before Christmas and Colin Taylors visits to teams, all feedback was put together and reviewed by the project board and passed to David Jenkin from Alexi Marmot. David held a workshop with members or representatives of the project board on 10th January to talk about timescales and some initial suggestions, and then spent Tuesday visiting teams to see their workspaces and find out more about the activities that happen where staff work.
Following David’s meetings with the staff groups yesterday, he has gone back to work up an initial proposal based on his discussions with each team, and will come back to discuss these in a second workshop. The date for this was scheduled to be 24th January, but David has asked if this could be delayed to Tuesday 31st January to allow more time for that work to be developed and give him sufficient time to reflect on the feedback and conversations with staff. If you’d like to attend this session, please discuss this with your line manager.
Dates for open sessions in a lecture theatre at City and Collegiate campus are being identified for all Library & Student Support Services staff to attend, and these will be shared as soon as possible.
I’d like to also confirm that this is still the very early stages of designing workspaces for staff and no decisions will be made yet. In the meantime, spaces are being agreed for staff to move to for the construction work to begin, and decanting to other areas will start to happen from April. A further update will go out after the workshop on 31st January, but if you have any questions in the meantime please contact myself or one of the members of the project group:
