Similarly, they have heard from colleagues who continue to develop their research methodologies and approaches despite the restrictions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">The group would like to invite expressions of interest from members of staff for short case studies\u00a0(700-1000 words) that relate to <strong>best practice during remote working<\/strong>\u00a0and which explore the successes and\/or challenges of moving to online working. <strong>We intend to gather evidence from a variety of disciplines across SHU to compile a free open access publication to help guide and develop remote working practices in higher education<\/strong>, which we hope would be useful to colleagues at SHU and beyond. Topics could include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">Teaching of research methods<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">Studying research methodologies<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">Undertaking research remotely<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">Overcoming constraints due to restrictions on movement<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">Integrating research discourse within teaching practice<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">Dealing with ethical issues in research and teaching<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">Dealing with constraints \/challenges to engagement from learners<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">Positive\/negative impact of technology on teaching and research practice<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">Hosting academic and\/ or public events and conferences remotely<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">These are just some examples of possible contributions and the group welcomes all other ideas and suggestions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">Please send a brief 50-100 word expression of interest to <a href=\"mailto:lada.price@shu.ac.uk\">lada.price@shu.ac.uk<\/a>, explaining what the topic and the focus of your case study will be by <strong>5 February 2021.<\/strong> The full case studies (due after Easter) will be peer reviewed by the Research Methods @SHU steering committee, which includes representatives from all SHU colleges.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">The group looks forward to hearing from you and receiving your expressions of interest!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">For further information please contact:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">Dr. Lada T.
