It\u00a0focused on the underlying causes of misbehaviour and the importance of understanding the social, emotional and behavioural skills of students and ourselves. This\u00a0also acknowledged how our own behaviour impacts on students\u2019 behaviour.<\/p>\n<p>The session\u00a0highlighted the importance of planning for positive behaviour in our teaching sessions, providing information on strategies and practical approaches to handling challenging themes &amp; for the effective management of difficult situations.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000\"><strong>Facilitator<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Mark Heaton<\/strong> &#8211; Sheffield Institute of Education, SSH<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000\"><strong>Themes<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Principles, theories and underlying causes of (mis) behaviour<\/li>\n<li>The importance of social, emotional and behavioural skills<\/li>\n<li>Planning for Classroom Behaviour management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000\"><strong>Who is it for?<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>This session was aimed at academic staff at an:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Introductory level<\/strong> &#8211; session introduces core concepts; suitable for someone relatively new to the topic<\/li>\n<li><strong>Intermediate level<\/strong> &#8211; session suitable for individuals who possess working knowledge of the concept\/topic wishing to expand knowledge\/experience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000\"><strong>What next?<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Participants will have an increased understanding of some of the underlying causes of misbehaviour, the importance of social, emotional and behavioural skills for all &amp; the importance of managing our own behaviours.
