It will focus on the underlying causes of misbehaviour and the importance of understanding the social, emotional and behavioural skills of students and ourselves. This will also acknowledge how our own behaviour impacts on students\u2019 behaviour. The session will then highlight the importance of planning for positive behaviour in our teaching sessions, providing information on strategies and practical approaches to handling challenging themes &amp; for the effective management of difficult situations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000\"><strong>Facilitator(s)<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Mark Heaton, Sheffield Institute of Education, D&amp;S<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000\"><strong>Who is it for?<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Any staff working with students in a teaching situation.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800000\"><strong>What next?<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Participants will have an increased understanding of some of the underlying causes of misbehaviour, the importance of social, emotional and behavioural skills for all &amp; the importance of managing our own behaviours.
