This may be in the form of certificated credit (e.g. from another institution or course: RPCL) or based on work or other prior experience: RPEL. This workshop will focus on the latter and will answer questions such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How do I evaluate a claim? What are the key factors?<\/li>\n<li>What kind of assessment can I use to make a judgement on exemption?<\/li>\n<li>Who else needs to be involved and how does it work?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Participants will be given a range of scenarios to draw out the issues. They will also complete an RPEL pro-forma for one of their own modules which can be used to address future claims.<\/p>\n<h3>Facilitator(s)<\/h3>\n<p>John Freeman &#8211; HWB and Juliet Hinrichsen &#8211; LEAD<\/p>\n<h3>Who is it for?<\/h3>\n<p>The session will be of particular interest to\u00a0module\/course leaders, academic advisers\u00a0and LTA Leads, but is open to anyone with an interest in assessment, employability and student attainment and success.<\/p>\n<h3>What next?<\/h3>\n<p>You leave the session with a good understanding of RPEL at SHU \u2013 you will know the policy and process and how to access the guidance resources.\u00a0 You will leave with a completed RPEL module pro-forma which you can use in your own practice\/context.<\/p>\n<h3>Your development<\/h3>\n<p>To support your academic professional development, this session is mapped to the UKPSF and the NSS.\u00a0 You may find it useful to record your participation and use it as evidence for your application for recognition (HEA Fellowship or Promotion) or as evidence of \u2018Remaining in Good Standing\u2019 in your annual appraisal.<\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><a href=\"https:\/\/www.heacademy.ac.uk\/system\/files\/downloads\/UKPSF_2011_English.pdf\">UK Professional Standards Framework<\/a><\/td>\n<td><strong>A3<\/strong> Assess and give feedback to learners<strong>K6<\/strong> The implications of quality assurance and quality enhancement for academic and professional practice with a particular focus on teaching<\/p>\n<p><strong>V2<\/strong> Promote participation in higher education and equality of opportunity for learners<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>National Student Survey<\/td>\n<td><strong>8.<\/strong> The criteria used in marking have been clear in advance.<strong>9<\/strong>.
