This is an\u00a0interactive session for staff who would like to explore alternative means of providing academic support without spending more time doing so.<\/p>\n
An Action Learning Set is a reflective process involving a group of peers helping each other work through issues or problems through active listening and\u00a0appreciative enquiry.<\/p>\n
During the session, you will be introduced to the basics\u00a0and principles of action learning (Revans 2011) before having the opportunity to take part in an action learning set yourself.<\/p>\n
Action Learning is a methodology used to\u00a0help people work through issues that feel ‘unmanageable<\/em><\/strong>‘, resulting in some form of ‘action<\/strong><\/em>‘ to address the issue. It has\u00a0been proven to help staff feel less ‘stressed<\/strong><\/em>‘ and more valued and supported in their work.<\/p>\n The session will conclude with an opportunity to discuss your experience as well as ideas on how you might use this in your programme(s).<\/p>\n REVANS R (2011)<\/strong> The ABC of Action Learning<\/em>.
