An exciting new series of monthly online inclusion events which aim to:
- Make clear the University’s commitment to advancing equality of opportunity, experience and outcome at Sheffield Hallam.
- Position the University as a leader in addressing society’s most challenging equality, diversity and inclusion issues.
- Promote a culture of action, both individually and corporately, inspiring and encouraging people to make positive practical changes
Wednesday 4th November 2020 2:30pm – 4.00pm
Our inaugural speaker will be Carol Bernard CBE, Director of HR at the Cabinet Office and a Sheffield Hallam alumna of afro-Caribbean decent. Carol’s is a compelling story and an example of how it’s possible to overcome the barriers faced by many in our society to forge out a highly successful career. We hope the event will inspire both our staff and students to progress their own careers, as well as identifying any barriers to inclusive career progression that our University may need to respond to.
It is vital that the series addresses a broad range of EDI themes and protected characteristics – with intersectionality as a key theme. With this in mind, we would like to invite you to get involved in the series, including putting forward themes for future events.
Please contact Sam Coulby or Davina Chedzgoy if you have ideas that would enhance the series and/or would like to discuss how you, or members of your network, could get involved.
