Due to popular demand, the Academic Development and Diversity team are re-running its online Narrowing the Gap CPD programme over the summer. It is well known that there is an unexplained difference between the outcomes for UK domiciled white students and UK domiciled students from BME backgrounds; this gap at Hallam is above sector average.
This series of online workshops, one of a range of activities that Hallam staff and students are engaged in to close the degree awarding gap here, are all about having conversations about race and changing cultures which NUS/UUK report identifies as one of the five key steps which can make a difference.
Available to all staff, especially those new to this topic, the sessions take place from July to September. For more information about the programme and how to book, just visit our Narrowing the Gap site.
