Contract Cheating in the Context of Covid-19: Five Key Ideas to Consider
Thursday 18 June – 11:00am BST
Hosted by: Dr Thomas Lancaster

In the webinar, Dr Lancaster will be providing an overview of the contract cheating landscape in relation to Covid-19, with a focus on five key ideas for the academic community to consider – ranging from how and why contract cheating providers are capitalising on the Covid-19 opportunity, to considering methods available to support students in avoiding the temptation of contract cheating and embracing academic integrity. We will also be providing a brief introduction to our Academic Integrity training programme, outlining how the resource relates to some of the challenges and opportunities outlined by Dr Lancaster, one of its expert authors.

There will be time at the end of the webinar for questions, and we will also be sharing a recording of the webinar with all registrants.

Research Integrity, Ethics, Governance and the “New Normal

Thursday 25th June 2020 at 11:00am BST
Hosted by: Dr Simon Kolstoe

The words integrity, ethics and governance are used interchangeably in relation to research. This masks important differences that must be understood to address concerns regarding research culture and research waste. In this webinar, Dr Simon Kolstoe, Senior Lecturer at the University of Portsmouth and member of the National Research Ethics Advisors Panel, unpicks what we mean by each of these terms, and provide some suggestions on how to build a healthy research culture in the face of current challenges.
