Bulldozing Bias is a community of practice webshop (online workshop) investigating radically effective methods for fighting bias in higher education.
There has been a lot of focus on unconscious bias (UB) within the higher education (HE) sector in the last few years, with most universities offering UB training in some way, shape or form. The disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on the BAME community has bought into sharp focus the differential impact of society on people from these backgrounds. And while the effects of unconscious bias are immense, the impact of UB training has, arguably, been minimal. Indeed a 2019 CIPD report claims that UB training has no sustained impact on behavioural change.
