Course Leader Hallam Guild Group – join us!

The launch of the newly formed Course Leader Hallam Guild Group took place on Monday 18th March 2019.

This group has been created to establish a strong network for course leaders at Hallam and to develop effective course leadership across our University.

The role of the course leader is an essential component of the University strategic vision. It is a key aspect of delivering excellent student experience at Hallam. The time is right for us to join forces and create a COURSE LEADER specific Hallam Guild Group, to focus on this vital academic leadership role.

The group aims to develop course leader expertise, share and celebrate best practice and develop a strong sense of community and identity for all our course leaders. The group aims to coordinate regular sessions which will provide course leaders a fantastic opportunity to network, engage with peers, share experiences and develop skills. The Course Leader Hallam Guild Group will also help develop a strong course leadership voice across the University.

The launch event consisted of:

  1. An outline of the outputs of the Course Leader Hallam Guild Group
  2. A focus on continuing professional development requirements of the course leadership role.
  3. An outline of the course leader principles and showcase the course leader essentials online resource.
  4. An introduction to Play Your Cards Right: finding solutions for common challenges Hosted by: Danny Hannah HR&OD & Juliet Hinrichsen LEAD. The session provided an opportunity to identify and discuss issues you face in the course leadership role and to work with experienced colleagues across the university who have had similar experiences.
