Word Café – ACHIEVE Projects strategic focus

Hosted by: Graham Holden, Director of Learning and Teaching, LEAD

ACHIEVE is a programme of innovation, research and practice at Sheffield Hallam University concerned with not just improving, but rethinking, the student experience. ACHIEVE has been designed to support the ambitious strategy we have set ourselves to be a world-leading applied university.

Using a World Café approach, this session began with a welcome and introduction by the host Graham Holden, who  set the context and explained the process of the World Cafe. During the sessions, delegates had the opportunity to engage in short rounds of conversations with table hosts around key areas of the ACHIEVE strand:

  • Retention –
  • Employability –
  • Assessment & Feedback –
  • Keys to Success –
  • Impact & Evaluation Advisory Group –

Delegates were encouraged to doodle, tweet or share insights or other results from their conversations with the rest of the large group. These results will be curated and shared with the wider university in due course.
