Addressing ethnic inequalities in student retention and success at SHU: keynote lecture, workshops and inaugural lecture

There is a persistent attainment gap between the retention and degree attainment of students from Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) backgrounds and their white peers. Over the next year addressing this gap will be a University-wide priority. To begin the process of developing strategies to be implemented by all Departments, the Faculty of Development and Society has organised an afternoon of lectures and workshops which will highlight the attainment gap and begin the process of developing focussed interventions.

Professor Ruth Woodfield, University of St Andrews will launch the event with a key note which will be followed by an afternoon of workshops.
