Andy McEwan Memorial Lecture

For this year’s lecture the topic will be around workplace bullying, and the speaker will be Rich Jones, Senior Adviser/Collective Conciliator at ACAS.
All staff are invited, there’s no need to book, and the lecture will be followed by drinks and nibbles.
As part of the upcoming Migration Matters Festival, there will be a screening of a film by one of our lecturers Lucas Jedrzejak on the 20th June, 6-9pm in Peak Lecture Theatre.
Lucas’ film focuses on Ketermaya, a refugee camp in Lebanon, and will be followed by a Q&A session. The evening will conclude with extracts from a series of short films made by Hallam students who worked with refugees as part of the GoGlobal project in Lebanon, currently taking place.
This event is open to all staff, tickets are not necessary, just turn up!
The Formula Student SHU Racing team, made up of 7 Masters students and 30 younger members, have been working tirelessly over the past 10 months, and are poised to take the best ever student built competition car to Silverstone for the 2019 Formula Student competition.

Fundraiser to Benefit Women in Engineering Science and Technology
On Thursday 27 June at 6:30pm, Hallam View will be host to an evening of International dance and food, as the Women in Engineering, Science and Technology (WEST) hold their fundraiser.
The evening promises to be an extravaganza of International dance and food, with Indian, Latin American, Steel Rappers and more, in celebration of the Sheffield Dance Festival and Women in Engineering Week.

On the 26th March representatives from Sheffield City Council will be coming to the Head Post Office to talk to staff and students about the Help us Help Campaign.
Due to the location of a lot of our campus buildings, rough sleepers and those asking for money are quite prevalent, which leaves a lot of staff and students wanting to help, but now knowing the best way to do this. We would really like to support this campaign to educate staff and students about the support on offer, and the ways in which they can lend their time and money to making a real difference.
