MEng Mechanical Engineering alumna Jodie Howlett has been invited to be a guest speaker at the International STEM Students’ Forum 2020 under the theme of “Inspiring Your Innovation”, and at the VPET International Conference with the theme of “Skilling for Your Future” in Hong Kong next May 2020.
This is a large-scale international event, hosted by the Vocational Training Council and sponsored by HKSAR Government Education Bureau to connect international and local delegates from the government, enterprises, and students from education institutions around the world.
As well as raising our profile internationally, this is a great opportunity for Jodie to network for STEM education and development, and have an in-depth discussion on future skills and workforce.
An alumnus of the Department of Engineering and Mathematics, Oskar Solvason, Operations Manager at Harvest Healthcare Ltd, has engaged a group of postgraduate students from the MSc Logistics and Supply Chain Management course with the view to explore potential enhancements to company operations.
Harvest Healthcare is a manufacturer and supplier of quality healthcare equipment, providing a complete solution for care environments and the community. Students will work on four live projects in the areas of warehouse management systems, logistics planning, inventory modelling and designing an operational dashboard. The aim is to use this engagement to encourage local companies and alumni to provide similar opportunities for our postgraduate students.
