Six student winners at the 2019 PIDA Awards

The Packaging Impact Design Award (PIDA) is a competition arranged by BillerudKorsnäs together with leading design colleges in France, Germany, Sweden, and the UK. For many people in the packaging business the PIDA awards are the highlight of the year.

The PIDA events are not only an arena for students to show off their skills to potential future employers, but are also a great networking opportunity for students to meet with industry professionals – converters, printers, brand owners, designers, bloggers and journalists.

This year’s UK event was held at the Royal Armouries in Leeds, where we had 5 finalists from our MA Design Programme. Our students performed exceptionally well, presenting in a highly professional manner to a room full of industry experts, and we are pleased to announce that three of Hallam design’s won in the following categories:

Sustainability
Innovation
Useability
As well as these successes, the Gold Award – the overall winner of 2019 PIDA, was awarded to one of the Hallam designs. These students will be travelling to Monaco to be part of LuxePack, the world’s more prestigious packaging fair.
