STA Students Win Big at RTS Awards

STA students on animation and film and media production courses received three awards at the Royal Television Society (RTS) Yorkshire Student Awards; animation craft – production design, drama craft – production design and factual craft – sound awards.

Sarah McCarthy, a fourth year animation student, won the animation craft award for production design for her third year final project film, Fernweh.

Film and media production degree students Maya Russell-Baines, Hope Phillips, Leah Smith-Jagger, Fran Yepes-Walsh and Alex Timmins-Griffin took home the drama craft award for production design for their period drama film, Mater Mortem.

Oscar Whaley and Joe Georgiou, who are also studying film and media production, won the factual craft award for camera and sound for their documentary film, Resonance.
