BGI announces Sheffield as its new national HQ

It was announced last week, that the British Games Institute (BGI) will be moving to Sheffield, along with the National Videogame Arcade (NVA), currently located in Nottingham.

This is a fantastic coup for Sheffield and a great testament to the hard work and dedication of the staff on the games courses, which were cited as one of the key reasons to bring the BGI to Sheffield.

“Our move to Sheffield is a big statement for BGI.  After looking at multiple locations across the UK, we’ve chosen Sheffield because it has a vibrant creative technology sector, a fantastic track record in games led by Sumo Digital, one of the best games universities in Sheffield Hallam and a growth-focused culture.” – Rick Gibson, CEO of BGI

Sheffield Hallam will be working with the BGI on some exciting projects going forward, You can visit the National Videogame Arcade when it opens in its new Castlegate site at the end of October this year.
