2018 Learning and Teaching conference 10th-11th July – Call for submissions

The call for submissions to this year’s Learning and Teaching Conference: ‘Student Success – from conversation to transformation’ is now open and colleagues and their teams are invited to contribute and share their ideas and approaches.

The conference aims to facilitate strategic conversations around the student journey and submissions relating to any Shaping Futures “Achieve” projects would be especially welcomed. The discussions will centre around three strands and contributors are invited to reflect on how their current or future practice may exert influence on the following:

  • Student retention or persistence – and the range of factors that can enhance students’ timely degree completion.
  • Student attainment which pertains to the ways in which all students – regardless of background, are empowered to do well academically.
  • Student outcomes which refer to the educational, societal and life effects that are the end result of the student journey through higher education.

The session formats for this year’s conference are a new spin on the traditional session types and there are a variety of presentation formats from which to choose including poster sessions, short talks, reading groups and walkshops.

The deadline for submissions is 4pm Monday 9th April 2018. We are offering a series of themed writing retreats to support your understanding and development of your submission and further details are available on the  conference webpage.

If you have any questions about the conference call , please get in touch with the conference team at: SHUCPD@shu.ac.uk
