Academic Advising Framework
Developed in 2018, Hallam’s Academic Advice Framework supports the requirement that every student has a named Academic Adviser.

Academic Tutoring Model
Based on the model currently in use at Nottingham Trent University, take a look at a sample model for undergraduate students and courses.
Typically, at the end of Semester 1, the reflection and action planning is undertaken by both the Academic Adviser and their student in order to reflect on academic performance. The outcomes of which should inform and develop the student in Semester 2.

When students log on to their Blackboard page, they should now be able to view their named academic adviser. If any information is omitted, students are being referred to their course leader in the first instance. Please refer to the SITS step by step guidance regarding their student support adviser details.
Academic advisers course grades overview
Its beneficial for Academic Advisers to review a student’s performance over time by seeing their marks across all modules and all years of study in a single view. New in Blackboard – Course Grades Overview collates and provides a read-only view of all available grade columns from all module sites that a particular student is enrolled on. Academic Advisers can look up any student and use this view to support and help their students reflect on their overall performance. It displays academic year, module site name, assessment name, due date, submission date, and mark awarded. - Freely available guidance from the US which has been produced by our colleagues in NACADA and the NSF Aspire Alliance. Faculty advising in US terminology is broadly synonymous with what we know as personal tutoring in the UK. If you are a personal tutor in a STEM discipline, this guide may be really helpful to you, particularly in working with underrepresented groups or in trying to address differential attainment.
